Abstract:

Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a promising noninvasive method for visualizing the conductivity of biological tissues, but the quality of results depends on the method used. The effectiveness of various approaches to solving these problems requires systematic comparison with real-world models.

Objective – to compare EIT image reconstruction analysis methods, including the differential Gauss-Newton method with regularization, the GREIT method, and the iterative absolute method, based on three-dimensional limb models with inhomogeneities.

The GREIT algorithm was shown to provide the best accuracy in preventing inclusion localization patterns, as increasing the region size leads to increased artifacts and smaller object boundaries.

The obtained data allow for informed selection of a decision-making algorithm based on the anatomical examination of the region, which is important for the development of functional imaging systems in clinical practice.
