Abstract:

Parasitic diseases (invasive diseases) – a group of diseases that are caused by parasites: protozoa, helminths. The cause of the appearance of parasitic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract is infection from the source of the causative agent of the invasion. It is easy to diagnose parasitic diseases by analyzing blood, urine and feces. In a clinical setting, diagnostics using ultrasound, endoscopy, computed tomography and radiography can be prescribed. The expert system (ES) has become widespread in the field of medicine as a physician's assistant in making a preliminary diagnosis. A specialist can turn to ES for help in the case when the task is not clearly formalized, and the algorithm for its unambiguous solution is difficult to implement. Also relevant is the use of medical ES in the early diagnosis of diseases, when the patient's history may contain a list of highly correlated or mutually exclusive symptoms. Then it becomes necessary to develop a mechanism for a clear distinction between symptoms and diseases. Here, the decision support system (DSS), considered as one of the areas of medical ES, can provide significant assistance.

The work is devoted to the development and implementation of ES for early diagnosis of diseases. This ES is built on the basis of a set of differential diagnostic features, has the mathematical apparatus of the decision-making mechanism and an adaptable user interface. The latter means that ES can be used for a wide range of pathologies. The work of ES is shown on the example of diagnostics of a number of selected parasitic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. The software development was performed in the C # programming language.
