Abstract:
Let us take a redundant system of m parallel elements with the same time to failure distribution functions (hot standby). We consider the method for testing the hypothesis that failure of the first r elements doesn-t influent the time to failure distributions of the remaining (m-r) elements of the system - that continue to function. The method is based on a comparison of two different estimates of the reliability function, where ? is the standard estimate from the set of all times to failure periods in n systems and ? is the Kaplan-Meyer estimate from the set of the first r failures in all the systems. Keywords: redundant system, hot standby, residual life, Kaplan-Meyer estimates, Kolmogorov-Smirnov type statistics, exact distributions of statistics.
