Abstract:

Problem statement: Processing large data sets obtained from proteome analysis of dried blood spots requires the use of statistical methods that objectify deviations from the normal distribution of random variables. Objective: Anderson–Darling k-sample tests were used to test the hypothesis: is the normal distribution adequate for describing large masses of data on proteins changing in the proteome for detecting most deviations from normality? as applied to testing a family of distributions of protein concentration data sets at survey points of winterers of the Antarctic expedition. Results: It was found that the use of k-sample criteria for the homogeneity of proteome analysis data on dried blood spot extracts makes it possible to make correct and informative conclusions with the calculation of the achieved significance level (p value). Preservation of the normal distribution of large masses of protein data with changing levels was established. Deviations from the characteristic background distribution were revealed at the time points of blood sample collection from winterers (the middle and the end of work in the Antarctic expedition). Practical significance: The obtained data allow us to recommend the use of Anderson–Darling K-sample tests for testing a family of distributions of large data arrays, based on their use in the analysis of changing proteins in small samples at different times of research work in extreme conditions of human life.
