The brain is a unique organization in the living nature, possessing the ability for psychic activity, which manifests itself in the mind, in thoughts, feelings, emotions.
At the present time, the progressive mathematical method of wavelet analysis of the electroencephalogram (EEG) has been developed, which opens new possibilities for revealing the information content of a brain processes.
The purpose of this study is the development of information technology for studying the mental activity of the brain based on wavelet analysis of the EEG.
The ability of a person be conscious of the image on the screen of the monitor was tested with the simultaneous recording of the EEG using a computer program developed and an experimental PC-based installation.
The information capabilities of the wavelet analysis EEG method were improved for the recognition of specific patterns of the human brain mental activity.
Wavelet analysis of fragments of EEG recording were carried out at the moment of awareness of the semantic content of the image in comparison with EEG records in the absence of conscious (subjective) perception of the semantic content of the image.
Significant differences in the alpha rhythm of the EEG are shown between the moments of awareness of the semantic content of the image and the absence of a conscious (subjective) perception of the semantic content of the image.
Wavelet analysis of fragments of EEG recording shows that the basic EEG rhythm, from which one can judge the presence of subjective perception of the visual image, is the alpha rhythm.
The carried out researches allow drawing the important conclusion about an opportunity of revealing in EEG of displays of a brain mental activity connected with visual image awareness.
