Abstract:

The modern angular position detectors based on anisotropic magnetoresistive sensors, due to the specificity of the anisotropic magnetoresistive effect, provide measurement of the angular position of a rotating mechanism only in the range of 0–180 degrees.

Development and experimental researches of the characteristics of the angular position detectors based on anisotropic magnetoresistive sensors, providing measurement of the angular position in the 0–180 degrees range.

A method for determining the angular position of a rotating mechanism in the 0–360 degrees range using sensors was developed and experimentally tested. The possibility of creating an absolute angular position sensor (encoder) based on a set of the four sensors, providing angle determination in the range of 0–360 degrees with a random error of sensor of ≤ 0,5° ( in static mode ~ 0,1°), a resolution of 0,02°. The experimental sample of the encoder has been developed.

The results of development and experimental research absolute angle detector based by anisotropic magnetoresistive sensors capable the measurement of revolving device angular position of 0–360 degrees angle range are presented that can be used in control systems jf mechanisms and units where  knowledge of the speed and direction of rotation, angle of rotation and position under extremal influences.

The use of sensor in control systems for mechanisms or units that require knowledge of the speed and detection of rotation. And the position under conditions of temperature, humidity, contamination, and significant vibration loads (angular position sensors for rotary actuators, throttle valves, etc.)
