Представлены данные литературы и собственных исследований, свидетельствующие о том, что растворимая форма KIM-1 (kidney injury molecule – маркер/молекула/повреждения почек) – специфического маркера поражения тубулярного эпителия почек при различных заболеваниях, ассоциированных с почечной недостаточностью, и при нефротоксических воздействиях различной природы – является потенциальным высокочувствительным маркером для раннего выявления почечно-клеточного рака. Подробно охарактеризованы особенности строения KIM-1, молекулярный механизм его действия, а также изменения в его экспрессии, происходящие при неонкологических заболеваниях почек.
