Abstract:

Improving information and telecommunication technologies involves finding methods of increasing spatial-frequency selectivity of transmitting and receiving signals by establishing parameters of antenna system designs with given beam shapes. Linear antenna arrays with rationally selected inter-element distances and complex amplitudes of currents in apertures are characterized by high directivities, which undergo small changes in the formation of conductors of directional patterns. Circular antenna arrays with uniform placement of elements on circles allow space scanning while maintaining high directivities within 360°. Based on the results of the review of methods for synthesis of antenna arrays, laws of reduction of directivities when suppressing average levels of side lobes of radiation patterns have been established. In order to reduce signal amplification losses during transmission-reception during formation of dips in radiation patterns, it is required to justify the criterion and solve the problem of determining structural parameters during selective control of side lobe envelopes at a plurality of angular positions.

The purpose of the article is substantiation of procedure for synthesis of antenna arrays with levels of directional patterns fixed on multiple angular positions, and investigation of regularities of transformation of directional properties at change of number of antenna elements and electric dimensions of apertures.

The criterion is justified and using the method of indefinite Lagrange multipliers, the problem of synthesis of antenna arrays with directional patterns fixed on a set of angle values in the areas of the side lobes has been solved. Relationships of amplitude-phase distribution of currents of antenna elements with indicators of space-frequency selectivity and control parameters of arrays have been investigated. Values of average levels of side lobes of radiation patterns and directivities of antenna arrays at fixation of radiation patterns in specified directions have been found. Possibilities of improving directional properties of receiving-emitting structures with changes in the number and angular coordinates of directional pattern control points have been determined.

The developed parametric synthesis procedure contributes to the improvement of the methodological foundations of design and development of effective technologies for constructing antenna arrays to be used in information and telecommunication systems. Results of synthesis of receiving-emitting structures serve as initial data for determination of parameters of structures of distribution circuits, devices for generation of directional patterns and matching with antenna-feeder paths. Based on the multiple solution of the parametric synthesis problem, it becomes possible to optimize the configuration of the antenna array with a reduction in the number of elements in the interests of miniaturization of electronic means.
