Abstract:

The article is devoted to modeling of radio system using software-configurable radio (SCR) technologies on the basis of GNU Radio platform and hardware complex USRP-2901. The main attention is paid to the use of USRP-2901 as a key tool for realization of a radio system in real conditions. The principles of SCR operation and GNU Radio capabilities for radio system design and analysis have been considered. A radio system model including a transmitter and a receiver using quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) has been developed and tested as part of the research. Special attention has been given to the integration of USRP-2901 with GNU Radio for signal processing. The simulations identified features associated with distortions in the signal constellation. These distortions have been analyzed, and methods to minimize them have been proposed. The capabilities of USRP-2901 for modeling real radio channels have been demonstrated. The results of the work confirm that the use of GNU Radio and USRP-2901 bundle allows efficient design, testing and adaptation of radio systems. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of applying the developed model for educational purposes, scientific experiments and prototyping of radio systems. The article is of interest for researchers and engineers involved in the development of radio applications, as well as for specialists studying modern technologies in the field of telecommunications and SCR.
