Abstract:

The analysis of the dependences of the shapes of the azimuthal amplitude difference direction-finding patterns of antenna direction-finding pairs and systematic components of the structural errors of scalar short-spaced amplitude radio direction finders with the formation of the direction-finding function according to the Watson–Watt method on the asymmetries of the structure of antenna direction-finding pairs caused by the inequality of centering of the distances from the phase center direction-finding pairs of antennas, non-identity of the complex impedances of antennas and the difference in effective lengths of antennas. Sign-alternating azimuthal dependences of the systematic components of the structural errors of scalar short-spaced amplitude radio direction finders with a four-element equidistant loop antenna array of two mutually orthogonal direction-finding pairs of vertical symmetric dipole antennas and the formation of the direction-finding function in the Watson–Watt method of direction finding on the parameters of the asymmetric direction finding the center of one of the antennas relative to the phase center of the direction finding antenna array; errors in the radius of placement of the phase center of one of the antennas in the horizontal plane; errors in the height of the placement of the phase center of one of the antennas relative to the horizontal plane of the placement of the phase centers of the antennas of the direction-finding antenna array; tilt relative to the vertical of one of the antennas. Constraints on the parameters of the asymmetry of antenna-feeder channels and the design of direction-finding pairs of antennas of a four-element equidistant loop antenna array are determined, which ensure the achievement of a given radio direction finding accuracy with scalar short-spaced amplitude radio direction finders with the formation of a direction-finding function according to the Watson–Watt method.
