Abstract:

The authors of the article introduce Boris Iosifovich Sapsovich as a scientist and the “V. Tikhomirov Scientific Research Institute of Instrument Design” chef designer of phased antenna arrays. They follow his career from his first steps as an engineer and A.A. Pistohlkors’s PhD student in Central Design Bureau, future “Radioengineering Concern “Vega”, till its zenith as a founder of a scientific school of antenna designers and researchers. With deep affection the authors of the article quote Sapsovich’s teachers, colleagues and disciples, reminisce him as a coordinator and a key figure of research.
