The dependences of the methodological errors of direction finders with low-based and wide-based antenna arrays consisting of nondirectional antennas, due to the mutual coupling of antennas, on the electrodynamic dimensions of antennas and antenna arrays, number of antennas and radio direction finding methods which implement the scalar radio direction finding method based on the definition of the plane of the front of an electromagnetic wave have been considered. A methodology for calculating heterogeneous radiation patterns of antennas and direction-finding pairs of antennas of antenna arrays consisting of symmetric vibrator antennas and methodological errors of direction finding by the amplitude, phase and correlation methods of direction finding has been given. The results of experimental studies of heterogeneous radiation patterns of antennas and direction-finding pairs of antennas of direction-finding three- and five-element equidistant circular antenna arrays have been presented. The results of calculating heterogeneous radiation patterns of symmetric vibrator antennas as a part of a direction-finding pair of antennas and equidistant circular antenna arrays with the number of antennas from three to sixteen have been presented and the methodological errors of direction finders implementing the amplitude, phase and correlation methods have been given. The dependences of the methodological errors of scalar direction-finders with direction-finding antenna arrays consisting of symmetric vibrator antennas with dimensions comparable with wavelength due to the mutual coupling between the antennas, on the electrodynamic dimensions of the antennas and the antenna array, the number of antennas, and the radio direction finding method (amplitude, phase, correlation) which implements the scalar method of radio direction finding have been defined.
