Abstract:

The aim of the article is to describe the results of development of a multibeam array-fed reflector antenna for the S-band syntheticaperture radar (SAR) for Earth surface monitoring. When this space-borne SAR works in the Scansar mode, the array-fed reflector antenna forms six separate beams of different shape in six different directions. These beams are formed in the vertical plane which is orthogonal to the spacecraft orbit. Earth surface surveillance is performed by serial switching of a couple of beams (one beam is directed in the near zone of the SAR swath and other beam is directed in the far zone of the SAR swath).
