Abstract:

The full wave technique for computer aided design of a wide class of square waveguide 90-degree polarizers based on double ridged sections has been presented. The proposed hybrid full wave technique for analysis of polarizers is based on the Galerkin method with taking into account the edge condition, the mode matching technique and the generalized scattering matrix method. The compact X/Ku-band waveguide 90-degree polarizer has been designed for operation within frequency bands 10,9…11,7 GHz and 14…14,5 GHz. The length of the polarizer is reduced at a factor 1,7 in comparison with the corrugated square waveguide polarizer.
