Abstract:

The article assesses the potential errors in the measurement of elevation angles by different types of phased antenna arrays and their impact on the accuracy of positioning based on the beam theory of radio wave propagation in HF range. The results of calculation of the relative error in determining the distance to the sources of zenith radiation based on the simulation of the propagation of radio waves through the ionosphere using the beam theory taking into account errors in the measurement of elevation angles have been presented.
