The article deals with the evaluation of possible errors of measurement of the profile of the electron concentration of the ionosphere and their impact on the accuracy of positioning based on the ray theory of radio wave propagation in the HF range. The results of calculating of the relative error of determining the distance to sources of zenithal radiation based on the simulation of the radio wave propagation through the ionosphere using the beam theory have been presented.
