Abstract:

Using of a single-ridged waveguide has been considered for constructing of a slotted antenna array with slots closely spaced to the waveguide centerline. CST Microwave Studio simulation of the 20-slot travelling-wave antenna array with alternating offsets of slots has been performed for both rectangular and ridged waveguides with two ridge geometries. The simulation results have shown that waveguide ridging makes it possible to place a slot quite close to the waveguide centerline while improving the gain and efficiency of resulting antenna, and to get more compact design as well.
