Estimating the bearings of reflectors using the maximum likelihood method with a limited number of rays generated by the antenna array

Abstract:
In this paper we consider the problem of estimating the bearings of reflectors with a limited number of rays generated by the antenna array. Authors suggest using method of maximum likehood to solve this problem. Also authors show all the formulas, needed for implementation of this method. The simulation of this method was carried out. In this article considered the dependence of the accuracy of the method of the number of rays (generated by antenna) used and it shows low dependence between increasing the accuracy from the number of beams used. Also the dependence between accuracy of angle estimation and signal-to-noise ratio is shown. The results of calculations allow to make a conclusion about the ability of this method to solve this problem.
