Abstract:
The pulse command radio altimeter is used in the modern aircrafts to form the executive command on the given altitude. The common antenna for a transmitter and a receiver is used. The transceiver module is one of the most important elements of the radio altimeter. The common antenna transceiver needs to maintain a few switches to switch out the receiver input during the probe signal. The pulse control signal spectral harmonics, through-passing to the switch output, could be amplified in a receiver or a transmitter and could make an essential impact on the altimeter functioning. The most negative impact is the altitude hole increase. The paper concerns the pulse control signal spectral harmonics passing through the MMIC switch depending on the pulse edges and its influence to the altitude hole. The suppression methods of the pulse control signal spectral harmonics to eliminate its influence to the altitude hole have been proposed.
