Adaptive detection of radio sources in spectral region by multichannel monopulse detectors - direction finders

Abstract:
The adaptive algorithm of detection of radio signals in the spectral region by multiple monopulse direction finder has been offered in the article. The considered algorithm assumes forming in each observation a matrix of mutual energies of voltages at the element outputs of the antenna system in the given observation and the subsequent summing of the given matrixes in a set of observations with unit weight factors. The decision about presence or absence of a plane wave is accepted by the result of comparison of the computed decision statistic Ξ with threshold level. The decision rule of the algorithm is adaptive to unknown intensities of additive noise in the receiving channels, the direction-finding characteristics of the antenna system and the transfer ratio of the receiving radio channels.
