Method of the antenna array phase synthesis using the principle of the partial beams spatial positions steering

Abstract:
The known methods of beam forming using an antenna array fan partial beams are useful mainly for linear antenna arrays. Authors performed a modification of the aperture with respect to the flat showed that management provisions partial beams can qualitatively solve quite complex tasks phase synthesis of antenna arrays on the specified volume directivity pattern of the special form. However, this method has a number of limitations related to the definition of the partial geometry antenna elements and their order of enumeration in the process of solving the problem of synthesis. This led to the need of developing a method for the synthesis of phase array antenna free from these constraints. The proposed method is based on a modified genetic algorithm, which allows to determine the best partial radiator at each step of the iterative process phase synthesis of antenna array. This partial radiator consists from three antenna elements phased in the direction where the power of antenna array is insufficient. As an example, we solve the problem of phase synthesis of planar 32x32 element antenna array. A method for the synthesis of phase array antenna based on the principle of partial control provisions beam of antenna elements, forming an antenna array has been proposed. As compared with known methods of beam forming control implementing a similar principle, the proposed method is free from restrictions on the configuration of the array antenna (could be applied in linear, planar and convex arrays), the geometry of the antenna elements and the partial preset shape pattern.
