Abstract:
The methods for qualitative evaluation of cross-polar level of dual-reflector antenna are given in [1]?[6]. This issue is detailed in [1] using complex coordinates for polarization vector. Complex coordinates in the calculation of cross-polar level of dual-reflector antenna greatly simplify derivation of required relations and their further analysis. This paper gives equations for cross-polar level calculation in the aperture of dual-reflector antenna with offset feeder. Results of the calculation are also compared with the results of [3]?[5]. The necessary and sufficient condition for zero-level cross-polarization in the reflector aperture is shown when mapping feeder spherical wavefront to aperture plane, . Derived equations are compared with similar equations from [3]?[5]. Domain of applicability for approximate equations from [3]?[5] is specified. It is shown that relations are existed between compatibility differential equations for reflector and subreflector surface and cross-polar level in the aperture of dual-reflector antenna. Examples of calculation are also shown for tangent of polarization vector inclination angle in the antenna's aperture.
