Extension of input processing dynamic range in interference channel of radar with adaptive phased array antenna

Abstract:
The problem of detecting active interference source impact on the basis of a correlation automatic equalizer was considered using a master channel signal as a base voltage in the negative feedback circuit correlator. Though the interference signal in the master channel will decrease after passing through the last stage of the interference automatic equalizer, but at the same time it will stay uncompensated in case of cross correlation between signals of the auxiliary antennas. This leads to necessity of creating and connecting a special multi-channel interference automatic equalizer to the radar. For dynamic range extension it is suggested not to apply a purely instrumental method but an instrumental-algorithmic method through replacing multi-channel equalizing with single-channel equalizing, with alternate enabling and disabling of the interference equalizer while observing the area of responsibility. Dynamic range extension for the interference channel of a radar with an adaptive phased array is achieved through adaptive control of input processing threshold with applying target channel interference automatic equalizer on the basis of iterative consideration of maximum interference in adjacent observance cycles.
