Adjoint oscillations and waves in layered guiding structures

Abstract:
Adjoint oscillations and waves are considered in the inhomogeneous electromagnetic structures on example of the round two-layer waveguide. The oscillations and waves are describing itself-adjust boundary-value problems in which the source is presenting certainly. The boundary-value problems are formulating on the equation of Helmholtz is shown that adjoint oscillations and waves there are dependence of the field from longitude coordinate. We show that these oscillations and waves, being «tied» to the source, have a longitudinal dependence of the field amplitude: amplitude of the oscillations corresponding to the complex resonance decays exponentially with distance from the source, the amplitude of the associated wave has a linear dependence on the longitudinal coordinate.
