Abstract:
The paper proposes an optimized design procedure of the phase shift and coordination of bit diode shifter on switched lines (PS SL), the topology of which is the original version (prototype) for further numerical electrodynamic simulation.
The article analyzes the simplified diagram of PS SL containing segments of the microstrip line (MSL) without T-junctions used in a real device topology. Nonlinear elements (diodes) presented in the open and closed states are also MSL segments.
Symmetry circuitry was used for analyzing PS SL schemes under non-active losses. This greatly simplifies the task of calculating the elements of the prototype topology is optimized in two-phase states to harmonize and phase shift.
The PS SL bit analysis algorithm is presented in the main part of the paper. There is also a summary of the main formulas and definitions there. In conclusion the article compares the parameters of the prototype model, the electrodynamic analysis results and the electrical characteristics of the layout of the broadband PS SL bit.
The proposed method reduces the complexity of the numerical electrodynamic modeling and extends the operating frequency band of broadband PS SL at high output characteristics of PS.
