Abstract:
This article is dedicated to the development of a theoretical foundation for one of the trade-offs in the design of adaptive phased array antenna. The adaptive algorithm involves statistical estimation of the correlation matrix of input vector signal (which includes reference as well), the components of which define the parameters of the matrix of the Wiener-Hopf. As a result of recent decisions and determined quasi-weights.
This paper studies the relationship between sample size and the degree of efficiency reduction of PAA. An indicator of the probability distribution characterizes the degradation of PAA's effectiveness, in which the parameters are in the form of much of the evaluation sample and the number of elements of PAA.
Basing on obtained distribution, a technique of calculating the necessary sample size is proposed to keep acceptable level of efficiency reduction, and, vice versa, it is possible to estimate efficiency reduction while allowable sample size is limited and significance value is given.
