Quasi-optical waveguides and resonators on structures of elliptical profile

Abstract:
We consider open resonators and waveguides formed by cylindrical elliptical mirrors, among which a dielectric waveguide with elliptical cross-section is confocally placed. The dispersion and the characteristic equations for calculating of the phase constants of the waves in fluted waveguide and the eigenfrequencies of resonator are written, respectively. The issues of ensuring single-mode operation are considered.
