Abstract:
This paper presents design an open-boundary quad-ridged antenna. The overall length of the designed antenna is 130 mm with a diameter aperture 200 mm. The quad-ridged antenna is divided into two parts: a shorting plate and the flare section with tapered quadruple-ridges. The tapering of the four identical ridges are of exponential shape. The minimal distance between to the opposite ridges 1 mm. The widths of the designed ridges are 5 mm. The simulation of the designed antenna has shown VSWR (less than 2.5), isolation (less than 21 dB) and gain (2.5-10.5 dB) results over the frequency of 1.1-9.5 GHz.
