The Analysis of Bearing Estimations Accuracy with Various Algorithms of Processing Direction Finding Results

Abstract:
Necessity of statistical processing of results of direction finding for reduction of errors caused by influence of random fac-tors is shown. Variants of using the bearing estimations with statistical processing are considered. With use of simulation, graphical dependencies of arithmetical mean and median accuracies on volumes of bearing observation samples, for nor-mal and uniform lows of distribution of errors are obtained. It was established, that values of arithmetical mean or a median estimations differs from each other no more than on 1-2 %. However median estimations are less sensitive to threshold values changes. With using median estimations, influence of threshold of bearing values selection on frequency of repetition of the measured values is less than when using arithmetical mean estimations. with the uniform distribution law of direction finding angular errors, central estimation accuracy above than arithmetical mean and median estimations. It is proved, that at the normal distribution law of direction finding angular errors, it is more preferable to use arithmetical mean estimations during a preprocessing of direction finding results. In case of the uniform distribution law of angular er-rors more exact results are obtained by the central value estimation. The suggested method is used for research of accuracy of estimations, calculated over others algorithms for various distri-bution laws of individual calculations.
