Effective and Broadband Printed Slot Antennas

Abstract:
Microstrip slot antennas have a number of advantages with respect to microstrip antennas - they are more wideband being of the identical sizes, less sensitive to errors of manufacturing, and their radiated field has a smaller level of cross-polarizing components. Review of the most interesting circuits and characteristics of microstrip slot antennas irradiation induced both by microstrip lines and coplanar waveguides, from the point of view of the achieved bandwidths of operation frequency and radiation efficiency is provided in the article. Microstrip slot antenna of two arc slots is evaluated where radiation efficiency exceeds even 90 % due to compensation of the actuation mechanism of surface waves. The various types of microstrip slot antennas microstrip lines and coplanar waveguides feed with tuning stubs of complicated shape are considered where the relative operation frequency bandwidth exceeds 40 - 100 %. Characteristics microstrip slot antennas of simple design are provided where the value f/f0  50% can be implemented by means of square shaped slot turn respectively to the microstrip line axel.
