Incident and Scattered Electromagnetic Field Simulation Based on Dipole Approximation of Ground Penetrating Radar Characteristics

Abstract:
Antenna and radio frequency channel characteristics are taken into account on the basis of electromagnetic simulation including equivalent transmit antenna representation by the electrical (magnetic) dipole system. Electric (magnetic) dipole moments are determined by electric (magnetic) antenna field tangent component in the near field. This approach allows one to take into consideration transmit and receive antenna impulse response and efficiently simulate GPR antenna radiation.
