Mathematical Model of an Antenna Array with Fixed Radiation Power

Abstract:
A simple mathematical model of an antenna array of arbitrary configuration is described. In this model, the array radiation power is fixed at a prescribed level for all phase distributions over the array elements. The model ensures more adequate comparison of the array radiation patterns than the conventional model with fixed complex amplitudes of the array currents. A numerical-analytical technique for calculation of the radiation power of arrays with axisymmetric elements is proposed. The results obtained can be further extended to the use of the elements - radiation patterns that differ from patterns of isolated elements.
