Abstract:
Electrodynamics of the chiral media artificially produced on the base of conducting electromagnetic reflection asymmetric particles is one of the actively developed areas of the modern radiophysics now. Thereupon the diffraction problem of electromagnetic waves on the chiral body of revolution to be of great practical interest which is closely related perspectives of using of the artificial chiral media during making of undistinguished radiolocation systems at the microwave frequencies. At present time there are a lot of publications devoted to the diffraction problems of the plane electromagnetic waves of different polarizations by the homogeneous chiral bodies and the bodies with conformal chiral coatings. In this paper the three-dimensional problems about scattering of electromagnetic waves exited by an elementary source of electric or magnetic type by a homogeneous chiral sphere of an arbitrary radius and by a perfectly conducting sphere in a conformal chiral coating were studied. The problems were analytically solved using the variable separation method, the eigenfunction method, the Fourier double series and the Beltrami transform. The different asymptotic cases were analytically and numerically carried out. The agreement of the obtained results with the well-known solutions was shown. The computational modeling of scattering of electromagnetic waves exited by the radial electrical dipole by the chiral sphere and the perfectly conducting sphere in the conformal chiral coating for different electrophysical and geometrical parameters of the problem was realized. It was shown, that at certain conditions the field scattered by the sphere can be decrease at the expense of using of the chiral coating.
