Abstract:
It is shown that the anxiolytic afobazole in increasing concentrations (1×10?10 - 1×10?5 mol/l) progressively decreased the amplitude of action potentials in primary afferent neurons of the guinea pig small intestine in response to the application of serotonin (1×10?7 mol/l). Introduction of afobazole inside primary afferent neurons through a glass microelectrode outlet does not lead to the blocking action potentials or changes in its individual phases. Afobazole (at the extracellular application) has a modulating effect on the action potentials under the influence of 5-hydroxytryptamine in the primary afferent neurons.
