Analysis of the structures of photonics and nanoplasmonics by method of integral equations

Abstract:
The integral and integro-differential equations describing oscillations of localized plasmons and dielectric resonators, waves in plasmonic and photonic crystals as well as the methods of transformation equations and algorithms are considered. A number of results for complex resonant frequencies for the band structures obtained basing on such algorithms are presented. The questions of negative refraction, backward waves otherwise the waves in such structures, and the relation of these phenomena with negative values of effective permittivity (electric and magnetic) are investigated. The structure with backward waves, similar in properties to isotropic materials, are proposed.
