Problem statement. Conformal antennas represent a class of radiating devices whose geometry adapts to the mounting surface curvature, finding primary applications in aerospace systems, missile technology, and transportation platforms. While extensive research has been published on this topic domestically and internationally, key aspects of surface current density distribution in conformal microstrip antennas remain insufficiently studied, particularly the effects of radiator geometry and substrate properties on radiation characteristics and input impedance—areas requiring further detailed investigation.
Goal. Development of a calculation methodology for current density distribution on the surface of a conformal cylindrical microstrip loop radiator using a singular integro-differential equation with a hilbert kernel.
Results. A singular integro-differential equation with a Hilbert kernel has been derived for the unknown current density distribution function on the surface of a conformal cylindrical microstrip loop radiator. The study obtained distributions of complex surface current density values on the radiator, corresponding to different values of the dielectric permittivity of the substrate used.
Practical significance. The developed technique enables calculating the surface current density distribution on conformal cylindrical microstrip loop radiator, taking into account both the geometric parameters of the radiating structure and the electrophysical properties of the dielectric substrate, while the proposed algorithm shows potential for being adapted to analyze antennas using advanced substrate materials, including chiral metamaterials.
