The detection of surface conditions in radar monitoring devices is the main task performed by the receiver. A threshold detector is used in the detection process: the target is considered detected when the signal from the receiver output exceeds a specified threshold level. The use of a constant threshold leads to erroneous detection and the inability to control the probability of a false alarm. The use of an adaptive threshold makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of target detection and better control the level of false alarms. Thus, it is necessary to consider and analyze the existing algorithms for stabilizing the level of false alarms.
The article systematizes algorithms for stabilizing the level of false alarms, for further implementation and evaluation of the effectiveness of their use in radar monitoring of the surface situation.
