Abstract:

The article considers an approach to determining the parameters of the satellite-GPS receiver navigation radio link for an actual
low-orbit constellation and provides the results of a preliminary calculation of the dependence on the minimum elevation angle above the horizon: the power of the received GPS receiver radio signal in different frequency ranges, the customer service area on the Earth's surface and the number of satellites visible from the side of the GPS receiver for different variants of the total number of satellites in the orbital grouping.

The initial variable is the angle of elevation of the satellite above the horizon line GPS receiver located on the Earth's surface.

The dependences on the elevation angle are investigated:

the power of the received GPS receiver radio signal in different frequency ranges with constant radiated power and different parameters of the transmitting and receiving antennas;

the diameter of the irradiated subsatellite zone on the Earth's surface;

the number of visible satellites from the GPS receiver side with a different total number of satellites in the grouping.
