The analysis of operational failures of broadband microwave amplifiers on the basis of TWT in interaction with the radio-electronic equipment

Abstract:

Results of the analysis of serial operation MPM on the basis of TWT as a part of the modern radio-electronic equipment, regarding emergence of operational failures of the microwave oven of amplifiers are given in article. The causes of the physical processes leading to critical refusal or destruction of a product are sorted. Mechanisms of course of these physical processes in a linking of the microwave oven the amplifier – the final radio-electronic equipment are described. In the first the section goes analysis of the phenomena of the paths connected with a very high frequency approval and the amplifier. The issue of danger of emergence of the mode of excitation of TWT is discussed. The description of emergence of process of plasma breakdown of a very high frequency of a path with destruction of TWT is provided. In the second divide the question of ensuring protection of TWT against overheating is considered. The example of inefficiency of the stationary protection working at achievement of the set temperature for TWT of forced liquid cooling is given.

In the third section the question of importance of approval of structure of the control instructions implemented in the equipment with structure of the control instructions put in the amplifier is considered. The example of failure because of inconsistency of algorithms of repeated turning on of the amplifier in the equipment is given. Conclusions are given in the final section and recommendations are made. Complication of a design of amplifiers and complication of functional properties of the equipment of their application leads to emergence of «unforeseen» refusals and complication of their analysis and exact diagnostics. On some concrete examples it is shown that this problem often sharply arises both for developers of the equipment, and for developers of its element base. At the same time such refusals at «simpler» execution of the equipment and its elements can be absent. As exit from this situation closer interaction of developers of element base with developers of the equipment at all development stages and operation can serve. Besides in the second way complication of functional properties of element base, in the case under consideration – amplifiers on TWT seems. That is transfer of functionality of the equipment to a part in the list of the amplifier. For example, control and adjustment of power, selfdiagnostics function introduction, «digitalization» of control of management and diagnostics.
