An adaptive algorithm for outlining objects on images obtained under conditions of additive Gaussian distortions with variance of various intensities is proposed. The algorithm is based on adjusting the values of the coefficients of the gradient masks, which makes it possible to reduce the effect of distortions in the amplitude of image signals. The results of numerical studies of the adaptive algorithm are presented, showing its higher accuracy characteristics in comparison with the known algorithm under conditions of additive Gaussian distortions with variance of different intensities.
