A numerical method for calculating the characteristics of technical systems using GERT networks with positive and negative random variables is considered. Equivalent simplifying transformations of the structure of the GERT network are described, which are necessary for calculating the density and probability distribution functions in the output nodes of the network. To find the distributions of negative random variables, the properties of the equivalent characteristic function of the network are used. An example is given of reducing the volume of received telemetry parameters using a GERT network with positive and negative random variables. The GERT Explorer computer program is used to calculate the stochastic values of the reduced telemetry volume during the primary processing phase and predict the volume of the telemetric pseudo-frame transmitted to the secondary processing step.
