Abstract:

The problem of measuring of time position of ultra-wideband (UWB) signals with code modulation of a sequence against a noise background is considered. A measuring instrument of discriminator-limiter type is offered for estimating the parameter. The distribution of converted deviation and distribution of the estimation at the limiter outlet was received for finite signal-to-noise ratios. Theoretical methods and statistical modeling show that distribution of converted deviation is non-Gaussian with «heavy tails» and distribution of total estimation contains δ-functions.
