Adaptive algorithms with an increased convergence rate for adaptive antenna arrays

Abstract:
The comparative analysis of traditional adaptive algorithms based on the minimum mean square error (MSE) evaluation is conducted. Normalized algorithms minimizing MSE, particularly the leaky LMS algorithm, are considered. Widely known algorithms typically show slow convergence with different power of interference at the inputs of an adaptive antenna array. In order to increase the convergence rate an MSE gradient smoothing procedure is proposed. This procedure allows to minimize a steady-state mean square error.
