The article discusses the types of economic losses due to unbalanced feeding of farm animals: decreased productivity, reduced service life and deterioration of health. The concepts of diet balance and actual productivity provided by the diet have been introduced. Based on the introduced concepts, new economic criteria for feeding have been formulated, minimizing losses associated with the nutritional imbalance of diets (calculation of the diet for maximum profit, maximum profitability of feeding, maximum productivity, etc.), the results of optimization calculations using various criteria have been presented, and their comparative analysis has been carried out. analysis. The scope of applicability of various economic criteria in feeding practice is shown depending on the purposes of feeding, operating conditions of animals and market requirements.
