Abstract:

In the context of widespread digitalization and increasing complexity of information systems (IS), traditional approaches to their analysis and management demonstrate insufficient effectiveness. Existing tools are often fragmented, focusing either on the technical aspects of monitoring or on modeling business processes, without providing a quantitative link between failures at the infrastructure level and business performance indicators. The article is devoted to solving this urgent problem.

The goal of the article is development of a comprehensive methodology and mathematical model for the analysis and instrumental management of organizational information systems.

The developed model, unlike existing approaches, provides quantitative transfer functions between levels in order to evaluate in real time how technical parameters (for example, server CPU usage or database response time) affect business process metrics (for example, order completion time) and, ultimately, on strategic KPIs (for example, conversion or LTV of the client). The article provides a detailed mathematical model for calculating the integrated efficiency of an IP, and demonstrates its application using a computational example for an e-commerce system.

The proposed model and the instrumental method based on it will help IT managers and business managers make informed decisions on the development, modernization and operation of IP. The model makes it possible to predict the return on investment (ROI) in the IT infrastructure, proactively manage incidents, and ensure measurable compliance of the IP with the strategic goals of the organization.
