Abstract:

The article is devoted to the design and application of the digital structure of inland waterways as a basis for modern information systems in the field of river transport, taking into account international practical results of their application. The main problems and prospects of using such multi-level hierarchical structures for linking information to virtual objects of shipping routes and exchanging electronic data between river vessels and shore control points, including for exchanging route information on navigation conditions on waterways, have been considered. The world experience of applying various information technologies for the implementation of software that meets the standards of notices to skippers and electronic single message systems in inland navigation based on Resolution No. 80 (revision 1) (ECE/TRANS/SC.3/199/Rev.1) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe has been summarized. The practical significance of the study lies in the synthesis of the main directions of creating a digital structure of waterways and objects as a basis for river information services systems, and its implementation in the administrations of basin departments of inland waterways of Russia.
