Abstract:
An actual study of the impact of human activity and its psycho-physiological state in a constantly and rapidly changing external conditions. The study of the impact of changing environment on the results of human activity and psycho-physiological state is a hot topic. The aim of the study is to reveal different changes of spectrally- coherent characteristics of electroencephalogram in the process of execution of a visual-motor test when a sudden change in conditions and their interrelations with the activity indicators. Forty-two conditionally healthy volunteers (31 men and 11 women, aged between 17 and 34) participated in the study. Investigation conducted with the help of visual-motor test «Strelok». It was found that sudden change in conditions caused the decrease in EEG theta rhythm in various parts of the left hemisphere cerebral cortex of the tested individuals in comparison with their reaction to the usual activities. The alpha-2 rhythm spectral power decreased symmetrically in all the zones besides frontal zone of the right hemisphere. The changes in the beta-1 rhythm spectral power were mixed. The growth of the beta-1 rhythm spectral power in the right parietal zone and its decrease in the left frontal and visual zones were detected. The beta-2 rhythm increased symmetrically in the central and parietal zones and in the left visual zone as well. Indicators of complete coherence rhythmic activity hemispheric increased when the test was conducted in the new conditions. This affected the frontal, parietal, and the visual cortex of the tested persons. Analysis of intra-hemispheric coherence of the EEG rhythms revealed a greater degree of the ties\'s increse in the right hemisphere of the brain. There were a significant relationship between the changes in performance, caused by the sudden change in conditions, with the changes of EEG spectral and coherent properties: positive correlation coefficients with the inter-hemispheric coherence, indicators of power of theta- and beta1 rhythms in the left hemisphere; negative correlation with the left intra-hemispheric coherence, the power of beta2 rhythm in the parietal and central cortex of the right hemisphere. The results of the study showed that the degree of the changes in the electroencephalogram spectrally-coherent characteristics, including the changes in the inter- and intra- hemisphere indicators of synchronization of the cerebral cortex zones activities, could determine the rate of the human retraining and other characteristics of his activities, thereby characterizing his adaptability to the changes in the environment.
