Neural networks - a tool for mining of new knowledge: progress, problems and prospects

Abstract:
The paper presents and analyzes examples when using neural networks have been mined new, previously unknown patterns. Among these examples, there are cases where these new patterns not immediately be explained. Sometimes these new patterns do not fit into the framework of official science. But despite this, the unit of neural network modeling allows the first such patterns apply successfully in practice. This gives reason to hope that the possibility of neural networks will attract the attention of researchers and will help us to take a fresh look at those areas that are not recognized by official science.
