Majority scheme of checking and diagnosing aeroengine control channel with use of neural networks and fuzzy logic

Abstract:
The intelligent algorithm of checking and diagnosing the technical state of gas-turbine engine (GTE) control channel elements, including the actuator of feeding the fuel flow to combustion chamber, GTE, the sensors of its measurable termo-gas-dynamic parameters, is offered. The algorithm of checking and diagnosys is based on use of the majority voting scheme «two of three», consisting of three units acting in parallel, the first of which is the engine control channel indicated above, and the second and third units are implemented in the form of neural network models of the control channel, trained previously and reproducing the characteristics «input - output» of this channel. In order to detect and recognize the failures in the work of the separate elements of control channel, the fuzzy logic algorithm is used to analyze the deviations (residuals) between the outputs of the mentioned three units, comprising the majority voting scheme, and to generate necessary corrective actions to the GTE control system in the case of some failure detection. The realization peculiarities of the offered algorithm of checking and diagnosing the GTE control channel in the Matlab framework are considered.
