Abstract:
Results are presented of radiative properties of new nanocryslline materials, fabricated by chemical modification of cadmium nanoparticales templated into porous alumina. Anneling of the cadmium/alumina structures in a suphur or oxygen ambient results in formation of semiconductor (CdO or CdS) shell over Cd core. Spectral properties of single-photon and two-photon luminescence in the structures are studied. In pure alumina, Pb/alumina and PbO/Pb/alumina structures defects in alumina are shown to be the dominant source of the luminescence, while in CdS/Pb/alumina structure the CdS itself provides the main signal. In all case the Cd core provides the local field enhancement of radiative properties via local plasmon resonanses.
